Oilers To Have 36 (!!!) Nationally Televised Games This Year

Sportsnet – Sportsnet will be broadcasting all 82 of the Oilers’ 2015-16 regular season games, including 36 nationally-broadcast matchups.

The McDaddy effect. No team in the history of sports should have 36 nationally televised games following a 24 win season but here we are. Almost half of our entire schedule will be nationally televised next year and that has nothing to do with the big acquisition of Lori Korpikoski. National highlights include 15 Saturday night matchups on Hockey Night in Canada. Fifteen times. I’m rarely sober for those. Good lord. That includes two Saturday night BoAs in October:

Saturday, Oct. 17, Edmonton @ Calgary, 8 p.m. MT / 10 p.m. ET (National – Hockey Night in Canada)
Saturday, Oct. 31, Calgary @ Edmonton, 8 p.m. MT / 10 p.m. ET (National – Hockey Night in Canada)

Can already anticipate what will happen to my liver/wallet on that Saturday night Halloween BoA in the Concrete District.

Meanwhile, in Calgary:

[via] NHL on Sportsnet will broadcast 22 national Calgary Flames games this season.
