Days Until The First Oilers Game: 14 – Jordan Eberle
Today’s Player: Ebs. CAN. YOU. BELIEVE IT?!
Career Oilers Stats:
Big season coming up for ATB’s spokesperson, looking to reach the 100 PIM plateau. The elite quintuple triple club. His first of 120 NHL goals was ok:
Why We Like Him:
Ebs hits almost all the criteria for why Oilers fans like him. He’s a good Saskatchewan kid, he scored an above average big goal for Canada, he assisted on Jim Vandermeer’s pass, he was a CHL and World Junior MVP, he rarely grips his stick too tight. I personally like him because he wears #14. Basically the only thing he hasn’t done on the checklist is gone a Flame. We’ve been so bad lately that people forget he buried 34 times in just his second NHL season.
Why We Don’t Like Him:
Eberle’s been one of the major constants throughout the “process” years. His production has slowed down since his sophomore incineration (the “Eakins” effect). Five years ago, we had this idea of where we’d like to be in half a decade, and Eberle was supposed to help us get there. We didn’t come close to it. The only two players left from that team are Jordan Eberle and Taylor Hall.
Where Is He Now?
Still with the boys. Still scoring nasty goals:
