Days Until The First Oilers Game: 31 – Curtis Joseph
Today’s Player: CUJO!
Career Oilers Stats:
My first memories of an Oilers goalie are all of Cujo. He was an idol of mine for about three years. He was flat out dominant in his time in Edmonton. Suck it Dallas.
Why We Liked Him:
We had Cujo during the beginning of the prime of his career. He was sensational for the Oilers. In 96/97 and 97/98 he started 143 out of 164 possible games. He was one of the only reasons we won those two first round playoff match ups. Goddammit he was good.
Why We Didn’t Like Him:
Playing for the Flames later in his career was the second most gutless thing Cujo did to us. This traitorous shit stained butt plug broke our hearts collectively in the summer of 1998 when he signed for money with the Leafs. Crushed me. I remember exactly where I was when he signed with Toronto. He was the first player in the NHL I hated. I hated him. I wanted him to lose all the time. I was so unimaginably thrilled that he never won a Cup.
Where Is He Now?
He’s the goalie coach of the Newmarket Hurricanes in the OJHL.
