ENS Gameday Preview: Capitals @ Oilers
We’re officially streaking in Oil Country! The boys in blue have rattled off three straight wins to bring their record back to a respectable 3-4. Not to mention the four losses were to three of the top five teams in the NHL. Friggin’ Todd and his coaching staff have the Oil playing good hockey for the first time in years. The season is still young but there have been far less glaring mistakes, the goaltending is a billion times better, the penalty kill is lights out, and now the power play is starting to click. If Edmonton can keep building on this we may FINALLY get to see some meaningful games at the Jungle in the new year .
The Washington Capitals are in town tonight and come into the game with a 5-1 record. They played in Vancouver last night so if the Oilers can get things going early on I like their chances.
Hall – RNH – Klinkhammer
Pouliot – McDavid – Yakupov
Korpikoski – Lander – Purcell
Gazdic – Letestu – Slepyshev
Sekera – Fayne
Klefbom – Schultz
Davidson – Gryba
Andrew Miller lasted all of one game with the big club and he’s already on his way back to Bakersfield. Iiro Pakarinen has been recalled and he could see some time on the top line with Hall and RNH at some point this weekend.
Brandon Davidson will draw in for Andrew Ference. Nilsson gets the call after stealing one in Vancouver Sunday night.

McDavid vs Ovechkin round one turns out to be a doozy. Edmonton gets on the board early and hold on to gut one out 4-3. Yak with 2 and a helper.
