ENS Gameday Preview: Oilers @ Capitals
The Oilers kick off a five game road trip tonight in Washington. These two teams previously met in Edmonton back in October which ended up being a blowout win for the Caps thanks largely in part to some shaky goaltending from Anders Nilsson and a hat trick from Evgeny Kuznetsov.
After dismantling the Devils on Friday night, Edmonton will be looking to win two straight for the first time since October. It goes without saying, but a win tonight would be huge to start off this roadie.
Hall – Draisaitl – Purcell
Pouliot – RNH – Eberle
Hendricks – Letestu – Yakupov
Gazdic – Korpikoski – Pakarinen
Nurse – Sekera
Klefbom – Fayne
Davidson – Gryba
One change up front tonight as Tony Lander has drawn a well earned night in the press box and Luke Gazdic takes his spot in the lineup.
Andrej Sekera will return from his bout with the flu and Anders Nilsson get a shot to redeem himself against the Capitals.
What Needs to Happen
When these teams met in October, it was pretty much a track meet and it did not end well for the Oilers as they got shelled for 7 goals against. Washington has as much, if not more firepower than any team in the league, so Edmonton will need to make sure they limit turnovers and make smart decisions with the puck in their own zone. If not, Washington will capitalize.. no pun intended.

What is Going to Happen
The Oil kick off their trip with a big victory over the Caps. Taylor Hall and Leon keep on rolling with 2 more points each and lead Edmonton to a 4-3 win.
