ENS Gameday Preview: Oilers @ Penguins
Well its November 28th and the Oilers have finally beaten down YEG’s spirits like the Esks will be beating down the REDBLACKS tomorrow afternoon. Sure, Edmonton got a point last night, but they played like a bunch of slugs for the first half of the game. It seems like before they even give themselves a chance to get into a game they’re already down by two. New season, same old Oilers.
The Penguins enter tonight with a respectable 13-8-1 record. They certainly aren’t as good as everyone expected…yet, but they are starting to get some production out of Crosby and Malkin after slow starts for both of them. So knowing the Oilers, those two will probably light us up for a billion tonight.
Hall – Draisaitl – Purcell
Pouliot – RNH – Eberle
Korpikoski – Letestu – Purcell
Khaira – Lander – Pakarinen
Nurse – Sekera
Klefbom – Fayne
Davidson – Schultz
Jujhar Khaira makes his NHL debut tonight after being recalled yesterday. He will slot in on the fourth line.
Jultz returns after missing a month with a back injury. Anders Nilsson back in the pipes.
What Needs to Happen
Pittsburgh played last night in Columbus so this game will feature two tired hockey teams. The Oilers will need to keep their game simple. They need to limit turnovers in the d-zone. The Penguins are the type of team that if you get sloppy with the puck, it’ll be 4-0 before you know it.
This is a big game. The Oil are currently 0-2-1 on their five game road trip so if they can salvage a win tonight and one in Toronto on Monday, this trip will end up with a decent result.
What Can’t Happen
What is Going to Happen
You know the drill… Taylor Hall lights the lamp twice as the Oil grease their way to a 4-3 win in the ‘Burgh.
