Time to go streaking babay!!

The Oilers are back in action tonight as the Tampa Bay Lightning roll into the concrete jungle for the final time. Unfortunately for the Lightning, they’re coming into face probably the hottest 17 win team in hockey. Edmonton has won two straight after a couple of electrifying games against the Coyotes and Hurricanes and have no signs of slowing down on home ice. With Calgary losing last night, two points for the Oil tonight will help kick this weekend off on the right foot.

Since appearing in the Stanley Cup Final last spring, many people assumed they would be a juggernaut in the Eastern conference for years to come. Unfortunately for them, their big ego coach is too busy giving all of the minutes to guys he coached in the minors and now suddenly come the offseason, the Bolts may be without one of the best goal scorers in the league, as well as a third overall pick. Currently Tampa sits outside of the playoff picture out East, and if they end up losing both Stamkos and Drouin it will be interesting to see how if they end up recovering.

Lineup

Hall – Draisaitl – Purcell

Pouliot – RNH – Eberle

Hendricks – Letestu – Korpikoski

Klinkhammer – Lander – Pakarinen

Sekera – Davidson

Nurse – Schultz

Hunt – Gryba

Talbot

Toddy Mac staying with the hot lineup. Iiro the Hero is back in on the fourth line as JJ Khaira is back down in the AHL.

Talbot in the pipes.

What Needs to Happen

The Oilers need to play a similar game that they did against the Hurricanes. They played a solid defensive game and didn’t give up many chances. They need to make sure they do the same thing against the Bolts. Tampa has the offensive firepower to make them pay so Edmonton has to be responsible with the puck in all three zones tonight.
