Pistol Pete Doesn’t Take All-Star Breaks, Picks Up Adam Clendening Off Waivers

Half the boys might be in Cabo, but the Pistol doesn’t take breaks. Today, he grabbed the recently waived Adam Clendening from Anaheim. Clendening will be a welcomed addition to a defense that basically welcomes anybody. Should be noted, of the five career points Clendening’s accumulated, one of them is against the Oilers. Classic MacGruber.

So who is Adam Clendening? Great question.

I don’t really know.

I do know he was part of the Perron trade. I briefly remember him playing for the Canucks. Other than that, Adam’s a young (23) defenseman (we need) with a decent shot (we definitely need) and shoots right (bye Schultz). He’s a good kid from the wrong side of Niagara Falls. Also, his only NHL goal was against the Flames. Love him already.

He may be young, but Clendening is on pace to shatter Mike Sillinger’s record for most suitcases in NHL history. Adam’s seen everything in his two year professional career: the massive skyline of Chicago, the beautiful oceanfront downtown in Vancouver, the steel bridges of the sneaky-fun party town Pittsburgh and the palm trees of Anaheim. Now, he’ll see the concrete metropolitan of Edmonton. What a lucky dude. Welcome to the Jungle, Adam.
