ENS Gameday Preview: Blues @ Oilers
It’s a Wednesday night rumble at the Jungle for the Oil tonight as the St. Louis Blues roll into town. One of the best teams in the West, in the middle of a race for the central division crown, coming off a bad loss to Calgary the other night so naturally they’ll be pissed off. What could possibly go wrong for Edmonton?
In all honesty, their game against the Preds on Monday wasn’t too bad. They were in the game for the entire 60 minutes and did not back down physically when Nashville ramped it up in the second. LB didn’t have a great night. With that being said, he doesn’t see shots like James Neal in the AHL, so I can understand his struggles. People are still overreacting though. Give him a year and he’ll save 2 of those 3 and we’re talking about an Oilers’ victory. Anyway, let’s hope the Oil can put together another solid effort like that tonight against an even tougher opponent.
Talbot’s in the pipes, Nurse returns. Other than that, there’s 10 games left. Who cares.
What Needs to Happen
The Blues got dusted by the Flames the other night harder than I dusted Snash’s wife this morning. Surely to God they’re going to come out flying. St. Louis has run Edmonton’s show over the last five years. So has everyone else, but St. Louis in particular just crushes us every time.
The Oilers are going to need to be ready to go from puck drop tonight otherwise it’ll be over before we know it. They’ll also need to be ready to answer the bell physically again. The Blues typically try to bully the Oil out of the rink every time they play, but Pistol Pete has added some beef to the lineup since October so the Blues may be in for a little surprise.

What Will Happen
We have to win at home eventually right? Well tonight is the night. Edmonton’s top two lines finally click on the same night and the boys make this a long night for Hitchcock.
McDavid adds two more goals, and Nuge gets on the board with a goal and two helpers of his own. Oilers win 5-2.
