Jussi Markkanen Looks Like He Could Backup The Oilers Tomorrow
— Edmonton Oilers (@EdmontonOilers) April 5, 2016
Suave as hell. On the left we have Grant Fuhr, who looks like he’s been familiar with the cheeseburgers at his locally named arena in Spruce Compton. On the right we have Jussi Markkanen, the goalie who came in colder than a Winnipeg winter during the ’06 finals and helped us reach game 7. This is going to shock the hell out of all of you, but Juicy Jussi is still playing hockey. In the goddamn SM-Liiga too. He started 35 games for the SaiPa Lappeenranta this season, posting a solid 18-8-8 record with a 1.96 GAA and a 0.921 SV% wait what? Oh my God. He’s fucking 40.
To put that into perspective, Sekera is 29:
What on actually Earth? I can’t.
The last we seen of Juice was in back-to-back loses against the Wild in April 2007. Poor guy didn’t get a win in his final eight NHL starts. That was not a good Oilers team, and they would still beat the wheels off this current one six ways from Sunday. The Canucks shouldn’t even dress tomorrow
night afternoon. We should dress the best of the Oilers alum vs. the current idiots in a farewell death match from hell and see who wins.
