Afternoon After Blog: Thanks For The Four Points, Colorado
Happy Sunday, folks.
You better believe that’s a share of first place in the PAC-7 with 7 games left. What a goddamn time to be alive.
Hot start for the home team in this one!
Is that Benny Poo deciding to show up for the stretch run/playoffs? Definitely do not hate that.
Colorado made it 1-1 soon after, but just over halfway through the period, everyone’s favourite German launched one by Pickard to give the Oil the lead again:
2-1 after 20 minutes.
Let’s just skip this period, nothing happened other than the ENS crew hammering a thousand beers in the hockey house.
2-1 after 40 minutes.
For the second time in two games, the Drake tallied a BIG goal:
What a dish by RNH. Unit 2 coming through in the third! Give it to me.
And with just under 5 minutes left to play, RNH added the final nail in the coffin:
Back-to-back games against the Avalanche. 4 points.
Final score: 4-1 Oil.
Nothing like a W on a Saturday night home game. As Jack Michaels said on the CHED broadcast last night, it was a well oiled crowd at the Rog Mahal. Hockey is officially back in Edmonton.
Honestly, Colorado looked like they were almost a semi-competent hockey team last night. The boys were playing guilty after shutting down the Pint on Friday night. Can’t knock the hustle.
Back to back multi point games from Drake Caggiula. Sure, it was against Colorado, but nothing would make me happier than to see all of this secondary scoring keep coming. Got to love the Drake!
McPoint!!! One helper on the night moved the captain to a total of 88 points on the year now, and a 6 point cushion on Sid for the league lead.
How about LB? Guy has looked like a different goalie than this time last year. He’s been called on lately and he’s responded. Love to see him shut the door. And this save was sexy:
Oilers DJ still STINKS!!! He played a goddamn remix of Bob Seger last night. BOB SEGER!! You do not remix that. Get this guy out of the booth!
Hottest Tweet of the Night
Oilers may be tied for 1st in pacific but their last 2 wins were against the Avs so that doesn't count. They technically only have 87 points

Gotta love Flames fans!
If the Game Was a Song
Saturday night win = Whigfield.
The Drake earns his first career MOP honours! 4 points in his last two games, and that feed to Leon on the goal last night was delicious. Keep up the good work, Drake.
My guy Kass was flying out there last night. Wanted to get the gloves off with Frank Beauchemin after he cross checked Patty Maroon, but Franky wanted no part of it. Can’t blame him.
